Isla Mujeres includes deeper and more sophisticated places with thrilling adventure dives. Come and discover the C-58 shipwreck, the C-55 shipwreck, the shipwreck Ultrafreeze, the Sleeping Shark Cave or the shipwreck of Chairel. All of these locations are not far from Isla Mujeres. Adventurous dives take diving to the next level in sunken vessels.

Seasonal Migrations

From January to March, encounter the schools of Eagle Rays that migrate through this area of Mexico. Punta Sur, at the South End of Isla Mujeres, offers a thrilling drift adventure dive that can be done throughout the year. At Punta Sur, you may come across large barracudas, dolphins, reef sharks and rays. Turtle mating season in Punta Sur is a must see from May to August.

Beautiful Drift Dives

Punta Negra, No Name, El Tunel, Grampin, Cuevas de Afuera are some other drift adventure dives, the current reaches 4 knots and carries you over a beautiful reef. Host to numerous species including turtles, angel fish, lobsters and sting rays as well as many others. A more shallow drift dive, La Lavandera is a coral reef in the shape of a figure 8. La Bandera has incredible biomass and is quite unique.

Your certification, biodegradable sunscreen, towel, sun glasses, hat. If you are prone to being seasick, please take medication to help ease your susceptibility to motion.

FAQ

  • How long is the ride out to the dive site?
    • The ride to the reef is about 30 minutes after departure from the ferry pier on our boats.
  • Can we arrange a pickup from your hotel by boat for the Try Scuba Tour?
    • Yes, we can pick you up or drop you off at any pier that will safely accommodate our boat. Be aware that not all piers are free. You will be responsible for any docking fees charged at the pier you choose if there are any.
  • Do you rent cameras?
    • Yes, we have Go Pros for rent for MXN$800. We upload your photos and videos to our cloud for you to access and download later.
  • How deep are the dive sites?
    • The local reef in which you will do your dives is a shallow calm reef with maximum depths of 33ft/10m.
