Night Dive
A type of recreational diving that takes place at dusk or in complete darkness is considered night diving. At night, since many marine species are nocturnal, the diver will encounter a different underwater environment. Night dives are interesting because at night, even a familiar place looks different. You will only see the area of the dive site that is illuminated by your flashlight on a night dive. This forces you to focus on one area and slow down and enjoy the sights.
Night dives are usually performed at Manchones Reef on Isla Mujeres. This is a shallow reef full of sea turtles, octopus, sleeping parrotfish, squid, sea urchins, sea stars, and multitude of other creatures that come out at night! This is a dive you do not want to miss while visiting Isla Mujeres!.
Activity details:
Itinerary 2 hours (maximum)
- 30 min before sunset – meeting

FAQ
- How long is the ride out to the dive site?
- The ride to the reef is about 30 minutes after departure from the ferry pier on our boats.
- Can we arrange a pickup from your hotel by boat for the Night Diving Tour?
- Yes, we can pick you up or drop you off at any pier that will safely accommodate our boat. Be aware that not all piers are free. You will be responsible for any docking fees charged at the pier you choose if there are any.
- Do you rent cameras?
- Yes, we have Go Pros for rent for MXN$800. We upload your photos and videos to our cloud for you to access and download later.
- How deep are the dive sites?
- The local reef in which you will do your dives is a shallow calm reef with maximum depths of 33ft/10m.
